NECSTouR aims to develop and strengthen a coherent framework for the coordination of regional development programmes and research on sustainable and competitive tourism following the communication of the European Commission, entitled “Agenda for a sustainable and competitive European tourism” COM(2007) 621, click here to download it.
Fondacioni Europa participated since the establishment of the Network and it was involved in the Academic Commitee along with other outstanding European Universities.
The Permanent Secretariat is doing a great job and at Fondacioni Europa we support also the new Board in order to propose and implement relevant actions.
We have always participated to the NECSTouR activities: a delegation of European University of Tourism, leaded by our Director Francesco Redi, on February 2011 went to Yunnan Province (China) to finalise a cooperation agreement with the Kunming University.
Lately, we partecipated to the last Seminar in Brussels on 29 January 2016 concerning the use of Structural Funds by the Region. We appreciate that some Regions designed coordianted Operative Plans, but at Fondacioni Europa we think there is still a lot to do in order to make an effective use of Structural Funds.
Moreover, as it is ammissible from EU rules, we stimulate Regions to combine structural funds and give the stakeholders of the tourism industry the opportunity to propose relevant projects that foresee investments, training and knowledge acquisition. In fact, tourism is a complex industry and public bodies and SMEs address everyday horizontal issues.
